Enjoy the fall season!

What would we talk about if you were to join me on my front porch?

Fall for Joy!

What if you could experience JOY every day?

It is yours, it's available! All you have to do to is seek it.

Whenever I think of this time of year, I’m filled with memories from our early days of marriage when we lived in Mississippi. We had a large tree in our front yard. We would rake the leaves and go in the house. About an hour later it looked like we had never raked. Our black lab loved running through the leaves and spreading them across the yard. We would stack the leaves as high as we could and put our two-year-old daughter in the leaves. She would giggle and throw the leaves up into the air.

I love to go to pumpkin patches and look at all the different types and sizes of pumpkins and gourds.

This month for the first time in my life, I went apple picking at a local farm in Virginia. It was a gorgeous fall day around 70 degrees. I was like a kid in a candy shop. They told me I could drive through the farm and stop and pick whatever I wanted. I chuckled with excitement and told the lady that worked there, “This is going to be so fun.” She laughed. It was fun but it was work. I used a tool to grab and pull the apples and then gather the ones that fell to the ground.

I returned about an hour later to the same attendant. I said, “I am not as energetic as I was in the beginning. You probably were laughing thinking; she won’t be as bubbly when she comes back.” We both laughed.

What do you love about the fall season? There are many fall activities to enjoy with family and friends. I am so grateful for this time of year.

Take pictures with your family and friends. Look for JOY all around!

Enjoy the fall season!

The Apple Of My Eye!

What lessons can we learn about God's love for us from these beautiful apple trees and apples?  Adria shares her thoughts.

I made this carrot cake for my husband's birthday. I never thought I would like carrot cake but this is not just an old carrot cake. It is a new favorite in our house.
