Tis the Season for Fun!

 Summer 2023

The summer is almost over for 2023. I wanted to give you a peak into some really neat book signings, reunions, and a tv interview.

Book Signings

I had a book signing in July at Country View Market in Charlotte TN. If you are ever in the area this is place you need to stop. They have everything you would ever want. Fresh homemade sandwiches made with fresh baked bread. They have every kind of baked good you would ever want. Ice cream and chocolates are some of the most desired goodies.

Thank you to Brad Roberts the general manager for his hospitality. He took great care of me as I had books for sale on the front porch. He even gave us lunch and ice cream. The employees were super nice and checked on me several times.

Thank you to my niece, Morgan Smith, she works at the market. She is the one that helped me to have a book signing table at the store. (Morgan and her mom, dad, and brother are pictured in the second picture)

I did a book giveaway for the employees of the store.

The hundreds of people that came to this shop were so friendly and loved coming often to this store.

Mary Jane's Chocolates

Thank you to Mary Jane the owner at Mary Jane’s Chocolates for allowing me to do a book signing at her beautiful shop in Bowling Green, KY.

Her hospitality and employees help was above and beyond.

If you want to have the best chocolate in the world you need to include this shop in your next trip to Bowling Green, KY.

3H Farms

Thank you to Kasey at 3H Farm's Market in Warren County Kentucky for inviting me to do a book signing at her cute shop.

Kasey serves a home cooked lunch on Friday's and has family activities on the weekends.

The store carries all kinds of unique clothing, jewelry, gifts, toys, produce. It is a one stop shop for anything you need.

"Like a River"

I had the wonderful opportunity of being on the launch team for Granger Smith for his new book called, "Like A River."

Granger is a country musician and his wife Amber has been on my podcast in January 2021.

Granger shares in his book about his journey with not only the loss of his son, River, but how he coped with other events that happened in his life. You will want to purchase this book and soak it in because Granger shares his entire heart which is so full of love. The book is an amazing story of loss but an amazing story of victory.

You can order the book on amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Like-River-Finding-Strength-Heartache/dp/B0BTMXZ327/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2TUGY6S7GF2B4&keywords=like+a+river&qid=1692235615&sprefix=like+a+rive%2Caps%2C432&sr=8-3

TV Interview

I was featured in a segment on WNKY TV News 40 in Bowling Green, KY.

Thank you to Noah from the station that came and did a fantastic job with the interview.

Thank you Whitney Scott and Amelia Brett agreeing to do the segment on your station.

Cheer!

In July I attended a reunion at Anchored Christian School (ACS) in Bowling Green, KY. I was a cheerleader in 8-9 grades and enjoyed visiting with people I haven seen in 40 years. I didn't graduate at from ACS just attended for a couple of years.

The first picture below (on the bottom half) shows a group of cheerleaders. You will see me as the fourth one on the right.

The picture of me with the older gentleman is Mr. Ben Oates. He was my English teacher. I told him he should read my book but not edit it. I asked him not to go back and look at my grades from English. He laughed.

Paula Butler (in red) and I were cheerleading buddies and both married ministers. Paula and I went out to lunch while I was in Kentucky and caught up on our lives.

Beth Vick Stamps (in green) were cheerleaders and great friends.

Friends Support Friends!

Thank you Vickie Carter Collins for stopping by my parents house to get a couple of books.

Also, my friend, Jeannie Cagle Waters, has a book coming out called, "A Place at His Table." It is a 40 day devotional with southern table stories. Go to her website at  https://jeanniewaters.com/ for more information.
