Load them up and move them out!

Load them up and move them out!

Has someone said something negative to you this week? Has someone said, "You look tired or are you in a bad mood today?" At times, that will put me in a bad mood. LOL

My grandson loves big construction equipment like dump trucks, bulldozers, and front loaders. We go out for walks in their neighborhood. They are building new homes. We stop and look at the heavy machinery. They are much bigger when you get up close to them. They are designed to do the heavy work and heavy lifting. These machines are expensive to purchase or rent and require much effort to get them in place to do the work.

These large pieces of equipment make the job of moving large boulders and lots of dirt at a time a much easier task. A rock fragment greater than 10.1 inches is considered a boulder.

The Le Tourneau (l-EH-t-uu-r-n-oh) L-2350 is the biggest earthmover, according to the Guinness World Records. It is the biggest earthmover ever built. It can load about 80 tons – that is something like 30 cars. The tires are 13 feet tall and five feet wide. The bucket is said to hold five standard dump trucks.

Just like bulldozers come through and clean up an area. There may be times that we could use bulldozer to push out all the negative thoughts in our mind. We may need a good cleaning so that we can start fresh.

Our minds can be full of heavy loads of emotions, hurts, abuse, criticism, and the list goes on. It may take someone who has been trained in counseling to help us move out the debri.

In order to begin to move out the negativity and pain it will take some energy and effort.

Having hurts and abuse building up in our brains will take some power to gather and move the heavy-laden burdens and the piles of words and actions that have hurt us so badly.

Just sweeping the hurt and emotions under the rug with a cheap broom won’t fix the problems.

There are times we will need the extra help. Don't be afraid to reach out to a trusted friend, pastor, or counselor.

What does Minute Rice have to do with waiting a minute?

My son loves rice. We stopped at a local restaurant and picked up some rice for lunch. We took it home to eat and then we needed to leave for a meeting which was within the next 30 minutes. I placed my two year old in the high chair and said, "Eat your rice while I go and change my clothes."

I went to my bedroom and returned to the kitchen and much to my surprise my son had an empty bowl. I thought, "Wow! He ate that quickly." As I began to look around I noticed there was rice everywhere. The rice was in every corner of the room. It was in the dirt in my potted plant. It was in the grout of the tile floor. Cooked rice is harder to clean up than uncooked rice. It smears!

I said, "Oh, no! We have to get this cleaned up fast so we can leave." I was upset and mad. I put him down on the floor to begin picking up the rice and he looked up at me with his big brown eyes. He started counting, "One, Two, Three." You see I was teaching him how to count and I thought, "I can't scold him for counting. He wanted me to be proud of his accomplishment of counting."

I had to smile and chuckle because it was pretty funny.

I decided to pause, laugh, and applaud him for counting.

Take a minute and stop when you get upset or mad! Try to find some kind of humor or joy in the moment.
